West Ham United team-mates Mark Noble and James Tomkins almost came to blows on Tuesday night after a heated exchange during their team's enthralling FA Cup tie with Everton.
The pair had to be separated by captain Kevin Nolan as they squared up to each other at Upton Park.
The incident occured in extra time of an extraordinary match, and came about after Noble appeared to question why Tomkins had not done more to stop an Everton counter-attack, with the Hammers trailing 2-1.
The centre-back reacted furiously, and pushed Noble in the face, before Nolan intervened to keep the peace.
The Hammers manager Sam Allardyce was quick to play down the incident afterwards however, as he spoke in the aftermath of his side's penalty shootout win after a 2-2 draw following extra time.
"It was handbags," Allardyce said. "Obviously one opinion was disagreed with by the other one.
"I've no idea what it was about but there will be no hangovers after we have won."
The sight of two team-mates fighting brought back memories of Kieron Dyer and Lee Bowyer's set-to for Newcastle in 2005, and David Batty and Graeme Le Saux coming to blows while playing for Blackburn in 1995.
